


White County students who normally receive in-person instruction will return to face-to-face instruction on January 19, 2021. As a result, we have made the decision for our students to learn from home through January 15, 2021. We continue to be grateful for your support, encouragement, and input as we have worked together through the first semester of the 2020-2021 school year.ĭue to the current surge of Coronavirus in our community and surrounding areas, we have seen an increase in the number of faculty and staff that have tested positive or are quarantined. White County School System believes that education is a community effort and never has that been more evident than in the past several months. Given the success that WCSS had at mitigating the spread of Covid-19 and keeping the number of positive Covid-19 cases low during the 2020-2021 school year, we predict that we will also have success following the protocols and procedures described above for the 2021-2022 school year. WCSS will continue to monitor and report to the public all Covid-19 positive cases in the school system in the 2021-2022 school year. All WCSS facilities were treated quarterly with Ecovasive antimicrobial treatment 2020-2021. WCSS will continue to follow the CDC and DPH guidelines for schools in positive case protocols in the 2021-2022 school year. WCSS followed all Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Department of Public Health (DPH) Covid-19 contact tracing and quarantining protocols during the 2020-2021 school year. All other students will attend face-to-face instruction. WCSS will offer a limited virtual learning option for the 2021-2022 school year specific for 6-12 grade students who qualify for virtual enrollment. WCSS will offer face-to-face instruction for all students P-12 beginning on August 6, 2021, which is the first day of the 2021-2022 school year.
